Catherine “Katie” Heazlett

Catherine “Katie” Heazlett is a hard-rock mining environmental permitting and compliance specialist with seven years of experience. Her areas of expertise are air, water pollution, potable water, water rights permitting and compliance. Katie has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a Master of Science in Environmental Policy and Management with a concentration in the National Environmental Policy Act from American Public University.

In 2018, Katie joined the Women’s Mining Coalition and participated in her first Annual Fly-In in Washington D.C. In 2020, Katie participated in numerous meetings with Nevada State Legislature to discuss a proposed mining tax. In 2021, she joined the Congressional Committee and most recently was elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the organization.

Katie is the Senior Environmental Coordinator for Coeur Rochester, Inc. In this role, Katie assists the Environmental Manager with oversite of the Environmental Department and sitewide compliance and state permitting. Prior to Coeur Rochester, Inc., Katie worked at Relief Canyon Mine where she assisted in state and federal permitting and managed sitewide compliance. Katie assisted in leading the company through the Environmental Impact Statement process for a proposed expansion until her departure in 2020.
