WMC Officers - Vice President

Cathy Suda, Teck American Incorporated, Washington

Janet Gellici

Cathy received an M.S. in Geology from the University of New Mexico and has worked in mineral exploration for several companies in the West. Cathy started working for what was then Cominco American in 1985 and has remained with the company through a number of name changes (now Teck American), working in various capacities.  Cathy has been Teck’s U.S. Land Manager for about the last ten years.  Teck American is based in Spokane, Washington and is a subsidiary of Teck Resources Ltd.  Teck’s current U.S. operations are the Red Dog Mine in Alaska and the Pend Oreille Mine in Washington, both of which mine zinc as their primary commodity.

Cathy’s membership in the Women’s Mining Coalition began with the  2004  Fly-In, and she has attended six Fly-Ins in the years since then.  This is Cathy’s second year as WMC vice president.  Cathy brings her experience in the hardrock mining industry to WMC, enhancing WMC’s efforts to effectively educate legislators about the modern domestic mining industry.
