Janet Gellici, American Coal Council, Washington DC

Janet Gellici, CAE, is Chief Executive Officer of the American Coal Council (ACC). The ACC’s primary goal is to advance the commercial interests of its member companies, including the development and utilization of American coal as an economic, abundant and environmentally sound fuel source.
Prior to her work with the ACC, Gellici served as Communications Director of the Colorado School of Mines’ Management Institute and as Public Information Director of the Western Governors’ Association. Gellici has also served as Executive Director of the Coal Trading Association. She wrote a monthly column for the Denver Post for many years and has been published in numerous trade publications.
In 1998, Gellici was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Energy to serve on the National Coal Council (NCC), an advisory group to the Secretary of Energy. She currently services on the NCC Executive Committee and Coal Policy Committee.
Gellici is Vice President of the Washington Coal Club and also serves on the Board of Directors for the Women’s Mining Coalition.
Gellici is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and is a Certified Association Executive (CAE). She earned her MBA from Regis University and is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a degree in Journalism and Business Administration. She volunteers in support of St. John’s College in Annapolis where she currently resides.
